What started as a brush factory, founded by Mr. Volders, has grown into a modern and dynamic wholesaler of paints and painting supplies. In the 1990s, alongside the construction and industrial sectors, we specialized in professional yacht building and watersports retail. Today, Volders Paint Wholesalers has become a full-service supplier of paints and accessories for yacht building, industry, and construction.
1939: Founding of Volders
Volders was founded in 1939 by Mr. Volders Sr. as a brush factory on the Teteringsedijk in Breda. The company focused on the production of various types of brushes.
1989: Taken over by Kees Volders
In 1989, the company was taken over by Kees Volders. Under his leadership, the production of brushes was discontinued, and the company fully focused on wholesale distribution of paints and painting supplies. The primary focus was on the construction and industrial sectors, with Volders developing into a specialist in these industries.
1990s: Specialization in yacht coatings and watersports retail
In the 1990s, Volders expanded its range to include products for watersports retail and professional yacht building. In addition to the construction and industrial sectors, the company now also serves watersports stores and high-end yacht building projects. This move strengthened Volders’ position as a wholesaler offering a broad and specialized range for a variety of applications.
1994: Construction of the building at Minervum
In 1994, construction began on the new building at Minervum in Breda. Completed in 1995, this facility provided Volders Verf with the space needed for further expansion and optimization of its business operations.
2007: Acquisition by the Adams Brothers
In 2007, Volders Verf was acquired by the Adams Brothers. This marked a new phase for the company, continuing its focus on quality, fast delivery, and customer orientation, while taking significant steps in digitalization. The company remains family-owned. The Adams Brothers bring their experience and vision in the paint and wholesale market to further strengthen and expand Volders.
2025: Corné Adams takes over
In 2025, Erik Adams, one of the Adams Brothers, decided to step back from the day-to-day management of the company. Corné Adams took over the company, and it continues as a family-owned business. Volders Verf remains focused on supplying high-quality paint products and painting supplies to various sectors, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, expert advice, and fast service.
